Andrij Ferguson

Physiotherapist
Originally from Montreal, Andrij Ferguson graduated from McGill in 2007 with B.Sc. in Physical Therapy. He gained important clinical experience during the next four years at Concordia PhysioSport in NDG. During this time, Andrij benefited greatly from the mentorship of specialists in the field of athletic/physical therapy and osteopathy and attended numerous post-graduate courses with a penchant for both manual therapy and osteopathic approaches. Andrij joined the Catalyst Santé team in 2012 after completing Clinical Masters of Physical Therapy (Manipulative Therapy) with Distinction, at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. Having being taught by cutting edge leaders of the physiotherapy field, involving a combination of advanced clinical training and research, he built a particular passion for neck and back pain disorders. Sports have also been another strong passion for Andrij. He was an avid athlete growing up, playing football at John Abbott College, and rugby for the Quebec Junior Men’s program and for the McGill Varsity Redmen. He has been the physiotherapy consultant for College Français Longueuil Junior AAA hockey team since 2013 and has enjoyed working clinically with amateur and professional athletes from a wide array of sports, including hockey, football, rugby, figure skating, triathlon. Andrij continues to put a heavy emphasis on education by consistently attending post-graduate courses to further develop his advanced skills in diagnosis, pain science, manual techniques as well as in functional systems training (SFMA) and exercise. He lectures at McGill University and locally to other health care professionals and to the public. He serves as a clinical mentor and supervisor for the UWO and McGill University Master’s programs respectively. Furthermore, Andrij has been published in the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy as a co-author of a thoracic spine study, which was also presented at an international conference (IFOMPT 2012). This dedication allows him to provide up-to- date, evidence-based care to his patients, from chronic pain sufferers to professional athletes.
