Amelia Boaks

Physiotherapist
Amelia joins Catalyst Santé after working primarily with athletes and active individuals at Stadium PhysiOsteo in Montreal. With a Master of Science in Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology from Boston University’s School of Medicine (2012) as well as a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McGill University (2017), Amelia has always had a particular interest in musculoskeletal disorders. Amelia’s passion lies in determining the root cause of a patient’s pain or muscular imbalance and treating it using hands-on manual therapy, myofascial release techniques and, of course, with exercises. Being a lifelong learner, Amelia has sought out continuing education opportunities in nutrition, manual therapy and dry needling. She has also developed an interest in myofascial release techniques such as ‘crochetage’, which relies on special tools to assist in increasing tissue mobility and overall range of motion. From swimming competitively in high school to varsity cycling at McGill and Boston University, Amelia has always been active. In 2012, Amelia discovered CrossFit and has never looked back. In 2013 she began working as a CrossFit coach and gym manager in Toronto. By 2014, she started competing and recently ranked in the top 3% of women worldwide in the 2023 CrossFit Open/Quarterfinals and 13th at World Master’s Championships in Wieliczka, Poland in Olympic Weightlifting. She continues to coach and train at CrossFit de L’Ouest in Montreal. As a CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting Coach and Physiotherapist, Amelia enjoys not only helping clients move efficiently and without pain, but also to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and achieve their athletic performance goals. Her aim is to help patients and clients not only get better, but BE better.
